Presbyterian Choir sings Friday
The Buchanan Presbyterian Church Choir, led by Martha and Mitch Mason, will present an evening of Christian worship and praise songs, with both a traditional and contemporary flavor, at 7 p.m. Friday, June 23. “The community is invited to experience and be blessed by the music and the words that lift the soul and take us into place of peace with the Lord,” said Pastor Marina Gopadze.
Buchanan Presbyterian worship hours for July and August will be changed to Sunday School at 9 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m. This begins Sunday, July 2.
Sunday Night Vespers at Limestone
The community is invited to Sunday Night Vespers at Limestone Park Ministries in Buchanan on June 25 at 7:30 p.m. with Mike Woody sharing.
Springwood Food Pantry
The Springwood Baptist Food Pantry will be open on June 21 from 10 a.m. until noon.

Mt. Pleasant UMC ice cream supper
Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church (White Church) will hold its annual ice dream supper fundraiser on Saturday, June 24, beginning at 5 p.m. Available will be plate lunches (choice of chicken or ham), hot dogs with homemade chili, homemade desserts and ice cream. Music will be presented by Friends of Praise. All are invited. To reach Mt. Pleasant, turn on Old Fincastle Road just outside of Fincastle, go past the Brian Center (Kissito), left onto Mt. Pleasant Church Road and follow signs to the church.
St. Mark’s Episcopal Homecoming celebration
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Fincastle, will have a Homecoming celebration at Emmanuel Chapel in Eagle Rock at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 25. There will be no services at St. Mark’s in Fincastle that day.
The Homecoming celebration service will be followed by a potluck dinner featuring pulled pork from Three Li’l Pigs BBQ at the Eagle Rock Community Center. Those attending are asked to bring a food contribution to the Community Center before church.

Sign up for Christmas in July
Vendors, yard salers and consultants are needed for Solomon’s Mission Christmas in July event on July 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tables/spots are available for $15 each. Reservations for spots must be received by July 8. Monies can be dropped off at the Mission or mailed to Solomon’s Mission, P.O. Box 1032 Buchanan, 24066. Concessions and bake sale items will be available for breakfast and lunch. All proceeds from this event will benefit Solomon’s Mission. Cloverdale Thrift Shop
The Cloverdale Church of the Brethren Thrift Shop is ready to help you celebrate the Fourth of July with several festive tops, scarves and jewelry to match. It also has received women’s tops, size 1x, 2x and 3x. Some are just like new. The shop is open each Saturday, 9 a.m-1 p.m.
